Committee on the Future Election Nominees

For contested elections, position on this list, as well as on the ballot, has been determined by a random draw of names by the Committee. In addition, each candidate in a contested election has been given the opportunity to complete a questionnaire. About the Committee on the Future

What Is the HOPE Committee on the Future (COF)?

The HOPE Committee on the Future is an elected committee of HOPE members whose mission is to prepare and recommend HOPE’s program for the future including a new, permanent Constitution and Bylaws - how HOPE should be governed.

Who should run for the COF?

Any HOPE member who is:
  • A respected, demonstrated leader in the union, the worksite and/or the community—and one who is proud to be a HOPE member and work for HOPE’s greater good.
  • Interested in building HOPE’s foundation so HOPE can succeed in meeting the challenges of the future; a “world-class” union and model for other emerging unions in the South-Southwest.
  • Energized by the challenge of thinking long term, “out of the box” and will focus on the committee work and not the day-to-day work of the union.
  • Fascinated by learning more about the environment in which a world class union must operate – economic, social, political, global—and applying that knowledge to make creative, realistic recommendations for HOPE’s program
  • Agrees to commit his or her own time to participate in this important challenge and enjoys the reward of a unique learning experience that contributes to building a strong union.
